+ overview

Kuta Beach (Pantai Kuta) lies near Kuta, a town located in Southern Bali in Indonesia. Indonesia is a Southeast Asian country made up of a group of territories and islands lying between the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

Kuta Beach is a 5 km (3 mi) long stretch of white sand with clear blue water. It is lined by a lush vegetation as well as residential areas and hotels and resorts. At the South end of the beach is the Ngurah Rai International Airport, and from there, Kuta Beach stretches as far as the eye can see to end up North near the town of Tanjung Aan.

What contributes the most to the lure of Kuta Beach is probably that it offers stunning sunsets over the Indian Ocean. Just for this reason, it is well worth a detour.

+ see & do

Kuta Beach is an overall active beach so it’s rather unlikely to get bored there. However, that really depends on which part of the beach you’re going to; it can be either really quiet and chilled out or very busy and vibrant. It’s up to you to go wherever suits your needs.

The most popular activity in Kuta Beach is definitely the surf. Kuta remains one of Bali’s best surfing beaches and once there pretty soon you’ll notice that surfers are part of the Kuta scene. Other sports, especially ball games such as beach volley and beach football are also really popular in Kuta. The beach is safe for Bathing and swimming and it’s great to just have a relaxing walk in the evening, enjoying the beautiful sunset.

The nearby town of Kuta is a former fishing village that has seen a substantial development due to the increasing influx of tourists in the region. That means that all along Kuta Beach, you’ll find nearly everything you might be looking for. There are dozens of hotels, bars, restaurants, boutiques, internet cafés, surf shops

If it’s the nightlife you’re looking for, again Kuta Beach may be the right place. The place features a lively and vibrant party scene with numerous cocktail and karaoke bars, nightclubs, open-air pubs…

+ get there

The gateway to Southern Bali is the Ngurah Rai International Airport. It is located right next to Kuta Beach, and for that reason provides a breathtaking landing experience. The beach is a very short drive from the airport.

If you’re anywhere else in Bali, transportation is easily available to take you to Kuta.
