More than a simple beach, Venice Beach is an icon. Extremely popular with locals and visitors alike, it is often seen as backdrops in TV shows, movies and even video games. What really makes Venice Beach so special is the unique atmosphere it features and the eclectic crowd it attracts: young, old, singles, families, locals, tourists, the relaxed and the hyperactive all come to observe the political activists sharing the pavement with artists displaying works from nearby galleries, as scantily clad skaters roll on by. Venice Beach is also synonymous with bodybuilders, who have a dedicated space on the sand.
